Winter Park ResortWinter Park Resort is a world renowned ski area, comprising of 3 inter-connected mountains, namely Winter Park, Vasquez Ridge and Mary Jane, plus Parsenn Bowl and Vasquez Cirque. With 3,060 total skiable acreage, skiers and boarders can enjoy 143 designated trails and 1,212 acres of off-piste terrain, including glade skiing. Known for being a family resort, skiers and guests of all abilities find their "piece of the mountain", whether that be the designated learn to ski parks created specifically for beginners, the long cruise runs on Vasquez, the #1 bump mountain in North America - Mary Jane (there's a reason they say "no Pain, no Jane!"), the halfpipe on Winter Park mountain, or in one of the many terrain parks ranging from beginner to the "Dark Territory". 2008/09 Ski Season Opens November 19th & Closes April 19th Terrain Besides the variety in terrain, probably the main aspect that separates Winter Park Resort apart from other ski areas is the fact that it has the most consistent snow season after season. The Resort's typical 10 year average is 365 inches! Because of the Resort's geographic location just west of the Continental Divide, Mother Nature can't help but dump white stuff on the Winter Park/Mary Jane mountains. Additionally, snow is made on 26 trails covering 299 acres, so the Resort's snowmaking capabilities ensures the opening of Winter Park before Thanksgiving. And even in mid-April when the Resort must close, skiers and riders are enjoying incredible conditions for spring. Lifts Winter Park Resort has 25 lifts including 2 high-speed six person chairlifts, 4 triple chairlifts 7 high-speed express quads, 6 double chairlifts, 3 surface lifts and 3 Magic Carpets. The Resort's uphill capacity is 36,920 skiers per hour, which means less time in lift lines since these chairs spread the skiers and riders up and out over the mountains. NSCD Winter Park Resort is also proud to say it is home to the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD), an organization which helps people with over 20 different physical and mental disabilities enjoy outdoor recreation, from skiing to horseback riding to rock climbing.
