Fishing

Looking to tempt a wild trout with a dry fly?

Grand County Fishing

Grand County, Colorado has been blessed with some of the best trout fishing in Colorado. Whether you are after rainbows or browns in the streams, pike in the reservoirs or desire to hike to catch some brookies in a Rocky Mountain National Park lake, we highly recommend Grand County Fishing Company for the most experienced and patient flyfishing guides in the valley. You may elect to hire a guide for a helpful fishing experience, or venture out on your own for a little bonding time with Mother Nature.  A Colorado fishing license is required to fish in Grand County.  Enjoy Colorado fly fishing during your next Winter Park vacation.

For beginners to experienced fisherman...

  • If you've never flyfished before, the guides can provide lessons while on the river to teach you or your family members how to cast, read the water and as much about etimology (bugs) as you care to learn.  To catch a salmon fly hatch in May/June is a fascinating time to learn about these insects.
  • Even experienced fisherman can benefit from hiring a guide.  Think about it.  Why spend time trying to figure out on your own which fly (dry?, nymph?, size #24?, size #18?, streamer since it's overcast? which one?)?  These guides know the rivers (some even know the fish by name - just kidding.  We think.), the hot spots, what the fish have been feeding on recently - you get the picture.
