About Winter Park CO

Winter Park & The Fraser Valley - Colorado's Wide Open Spaces!

Winter Park & the Fraser ValleyWinter Park & the Fraser Valley are situated 67 miles northwest of Denver. The locals say we have "the best of both worlds." Not only are we home to Denver's closest major ski resort (Winter Park Resort), you will also feel a sense of seclusion, peace, and quiet here - as a mountain getaway should feel - because you drive over Berthoud Pass to reach our valley. With the breathtaking scenery and abundant activities, there is plenty to see and do while you enjoy a Winter Park vacation rental. It just depends on how much you want to relax or how hard you want to play.

Welcome to Winter Park SignThe town of Winter Park is located just 2 miles north of Winter Park Resort. It's a real, authentic ski town, which is hard to come by these days. Most of the area's shops, restaurants and bars are located in downtown Winter Park. Ice skating, guided snowmobiling tours, horse-drawn sleigh rides and free music concerts can be accessed right here in town. Our guests who prefer to stay near where "the action is," appreciate our in-town Winter Park lodging options.

Moose in the Town of Fraser After crossing a beautiful meadow (often frequented by moose in the spring), you come to the town of Fraser. Many of the area's local conveniences are located in Fraser, namely the grocery store, discount store, photo shop, hardware store, coffee shop, restaurants, etc. Some area attractions, such as the Fraser Tubing Hill, rodeo grounds, and children's fishing pond are also located in Fraser. Some of our best Winter Park, Colorado lodging values can be found in or near the charming town.

Travel twenty minutes farther north and you've come to Granby Ranch, just a mile before the town of Granby. Not only is it close to 3 mountain championship golf courses, but tucked up on the hill is a lesser known ski area, called SolVista Basin. SolVista offers biking, fishing, golfing, hiking, and they even do weddings! We have plenty of ski-in/ski-out Sol Vista condos and accommodations available.

Winter Park HomesA tip on how to get around:

Although many of our guests like the convenience of having their own car while visiting Winter Park, a car is not necessary. Home James Transportation Services (800-359-7536 or info@ridehj.com) can provide door-to-door scheduled shuttle service to/from Denver International Airport and Winter Park/Grand County. Once here, if you're staying anywhere between the base of Winter Park Resort to the town of Fraser, there is a FREE shuttle during the ski season. Just be sure to keep the copy of the local Guest Guide when you check-in to our properties for reference.
