Winter Park & the Fraser Valley is situated 67 miles northwest of Denver. The locals say we have "the best of both worlds". Not only are we home to the closest major ski resort to Denver (Winter Park Resort), because you drive over Berthoud Pass to reach our valley, you will also feel very secluded here - as a mountain getaway should feel. With the breathtaking scenery and abundant activities, there is plenty to see and do... just depending on how much you want to relax or how hard you want to play.

 

 

 

The town of Winter Park is located just 2 miles north of Winter Park Resort. It's a real, authentic ski town, which is hard to come by these days. Most of the area's shops, restaurants and bars are located in downtown Winter Park. Ice skating, guided snowmobiling tours, horse-drawn sleigh rides and free music concerts can be accessed right here in town. Our guests who prefer to be close by to "where the action is", appreciate our in-town lodging options. 

 

 

After crossing a large meadow (often frequented by moose in the spring), you come to the town of Fraser. Many of the area's local conveniences are located in Fraser, namely the grocery store, discount store, photo shop, hardware store, coffee shop, few restaurants, etc. Some area attractions, such as the Fraser Tubing Hill, rodeo grounds and children's fishing pond are also located in Fraser. Some of our best lodging values can be found in or near the town of Fraser.  

Twenty minutes farther north and you've come to Granby Ranch, just a mile before the town of Granby.
Not only are you close to 3 mountain championship
golf courses, but tucked up on the hill is a lesser know
ski area, called SolVista Basin, where we have plenty
of ski-in/ski-out accommodations available.   

 

A tip on how to get around... Although many of our guests like the convenience of having their own car while visiting Winter Park, a car is not necessary. Home James Transportation Services (800-359-7536 or info@homejamestransportation.com) can provide door-to-door scheduled shuttle service to/from Denver International Airport and Winter Park/Grand County. Once here, if you're staying anywhere between the base of Winter Park Resort to the town of Fraser, there is a FREE shuttle during the ski season. Just be sure to keep the copy of the local Guest Guide when you check-in to our properties for reference.
